Our 5 years hates repetition also but I think she'll figure out the spelling on her own.Joyful Learnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06428785096597190176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8724801943841790034.post-53604540604118889942011-08-02T23:19:54.151-04:002011-08-02T23:19:54.151-04:00I wanna add, Horizons math is not religious at all...I wanna add, Horizons math is not religious at all! I just keep reminding him that he'd be doing a lot longer days if he was in public school and he changes his tune real fast. He's almost 8 though so easier to reason with this year.Time Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14558820632187474503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8724801943841790034.post-6886830488773566712011-07-27T09:37:05.230-04:002011-07-27T09:37:05.230-04:00My kids go back and forth on repetition. The two things that we looked at but really didn't like are First Language Lessons and Story of the World. My kids like worksheets (especially H), they both now have beautiful handwriting, and they don't mind repetition as long as we don't dwell on it too long. Sounds like you are accomplishing a lot in spite of how hard it is. I have heard so many moms talk about how hard homeschooling is and it is reaffirming that just because it is hard doesn't mean it isn't right. I am sort of happy that she is going to go to school where someone else will deal with her reluctance in writing and spelling. Great passport picture - Crumpet looks so big!Natalie PlanetSmartyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03531558038661679151noreply@blogger.com
